Right Deeemee,
BTW, I'm a 60 yr. old white woman. I agree with all you have said. The only (small) error is that Barrack couldn't be a descendent of slaves since his father is from Kenya. He may however, had to suffer from Apartheid and extreme prejudicial treatment once he was in the US.What the commentar before me was talking about I have no idea! How offensive it is to bring Religion and Jesus into those rantings.
I just attended a Critical Thinking seminar and it is clear to me that there was no such thing in that response. What made him/her think Obama is a liar. He might have been misguided in supporting his pastor but we all make errors in judgement.
He is not his pastor. Obama will bring this country together and help us to gain respect in the world again. I find it hilarious that Republicans tried to make it look like a bad thing that huge crowds came to see Obama. One actually suggested that they were all out-of-work people who had nothing better to do. Reading the European papers they are just shaking their heads that we would consider a McCain/Palin (esp. Palin) ticket.
'nuff said.
I think Deemee's comment was right on target. And shame on you for not supporting this historic event. Would you not have supported Martin Luther King if you found out he ever lied about something. Give me a break and open your eyes. Our country is in the worst shape it has ever been in. Thousands of people are loosing their jobs (and homes) everyday. We need someone in office who wants to improve the situation for the regular middle class people. As much as McCain tries to deny it he will be more of the same. Why is it now that he doesn't want to associate with Pres. Bush. They have been buddies for so long. And don't just pray for a specific person to be in office, pray for this entire country. We should be joining together to try and make America better, not become more divided.

Deemee...
Your comment that Obama's ancestors were under the white mans lash are a fantasy. It's not true, his father was from Kenya, he came to the US in about 1960 to get a free education through grants from the good citizens of this great country , his mother was a white girl from Kansas. His father abandoned them both... No history of slavery here....
Sorry to pop your bubble......
Deemee,
That was one of the best comments I've seen on any blog. You've succinctly framed my view on this America and this presidential race. Thanks and I hope you don't mind if I forward your comments on.
